Isaiah Washington opens up to Newsweek magazine about his recent firing from the ABC show Grey’s Anatomy. Washington played the popular “Dr. Burke,” but his on set antics made the headlines. If he wasn’t fighting and choking castmembers, he was making homophobic statements. Washington says it wasn’t the slurs and fighting that bothered ABC, it was the presence of a strong black man who wasn’t a mush-mouth negro. He says he was forced into some rehab crap promoted by ABC. Washington says his biggest mistake was thinking black people got a second chance. He says he did everything ABC demanded, but they still fired him from the show. The Newsweek article, entitled Diary of An Angry Black Man, is explosive. It also goes into detail about Washington’s fighting on the set of the Showtime series Soul Food. Washington got into it with Producer Tracey Edmonds and Actress Nicole Ari Parker. Is Washington misunderstood? Should he just go away quietly? Was ABC wrong to fire him? Let me know what you think.

I think he should move on. A lot of angry Black men play the race card or the I'm misunderstood card. How many times can you be misunderstood for the same poor behavior. At some point look at you and know that it is bigger than ABC. You can't treat people any kind of way and not at some point be judged not only by what you say but what you do. Going to rehab and all that was something he did because he was told to. What did he do on his own to atone for his ignorance. Break is up so Man up and take responsibility. Just like Imus. You can only get away with stuff for so long then your card gets pulled.

Isaiah Washington is playing himself. This crap is exactly why some believe all blacks cry racism when things don't go our way.
Lest we forget that Isaiah started all this drama with what? A racial slur against homosexuals. All he's doing is creating sympathy for ABC. Isaiah needs to accept the fact that he effed up, be thankful he didn't get fired months ago & was able to finish out the season & get paid for it & move on.
Stick a fork in him, he's done.
I think Isaiah should move on, since he has a history, it's only going to repeat itself until he looks in the mirror and reality.
I think one is Serena Williams and the other being Tracy Edmonds. living in Chicago, everybody knew what Micheal was doing including Juanita, she held out. She's for from crazy, she might be just using this new one for "entertainment purposes only", and when she's done with him,it will be jusst that, but only time will tell.

Misunderstood? Give me a break. This is the second time he has done this! He obviously has anger issues and needs to see a therapist. He is out of control. ABC should have fired him on the spot. He needs to take an anger management class. He got what he deserved. He needs to move on.
Isaiah Washington is doing more damage to his career by speaking out on his firing and claiming racism. He was not fired because he is a "strong black man". He was fired because he has anger problems and he's lucky that he was not fired before this. Get help, Isaiah!

I think he is just SCARED of Strong, in charge black women...he can't take direction.... he feels like the little man on the pole....but that azz on a pole and see if he really has what it takes...LOL.
I think Isaiah should just man up and move on. Going on Larry King to state his case, and complain about how he was given a hard time because he's a black man who won't shuffle his feet and dance just because a white man says so is so cliche'. He said some things on the job that offended a bunch of people and he couldn't fix it. That's the way it goes. He's not misunderstood, he's just angry...

I am SO over Isaiah Washington! He should have never opened his big mouth, so he got exactly what he deserved. He is, of course, entitled to feel the way he does, but who doesn't have gay co-workers now a days? I have gay co-workers; many as friends. I would never criticize their lifestyle even if I don't agree with it. Firing him is long overdue, he should have gotten fired the first time he said it...hopefully this taught him a much needed lesson. Isaiah also PLEASE leave the race card alone...no racism Isaiah, just foot in mouthism!!! Suck it up and move the hell on; I, for one, am SO tired of hearing you whine and complain especially when people who get paid much less than you lose their jobs everyday due to no fault of their own....
