Here is my original post from 2005 about Grandma and her beautiful wrinkled face.
This beautiful lady turned 96 the day this picture was taken in May of 2002. She is my husband's grandmother, Gertrude Richards. On Sunday, she graduated to Heaven. This quote from her obituary says it all....
She had always been a gracious, kind and loving person, not wanting to hurt anyone by her actions or words. She lived life with determination and guarded her independence fiercely, while still preserving her dignity. In later years, Gertrude focused on the good and happy times, and her attitude had made her very pleasant and easy to love.
I had the privilege of knowing Grandma Richards for only 14 1/2 years. I loved her from the day I met her. Her influence is obvious in the lives of her loving daughter, my mother-in-law, and in her grandchildren.
I'll miss you Grandma. But I look forward to seeing you again in Heaven!

She looks like a wonderful lady :)
I played too :)
Beautiful tribute! Wrinkles can be beautiful.
Guess what my literary quote of the day is?
"When grace is joined with wrinkles, it is adorable. There is an unspeakable dawn in happy old age."
- Victor Hugo
Thanks for sharing your dear Gram with us. My own Gram just celebrated her 90th a few weeks ago. I can see some definite parallels between was was written in your Gram's obit & what will inevitably be my Gram's legacy as well. I love that you used her wrinkles! ;)
I'm sorry for your lost.
She's beautiful and I'm sure she touched lots of hearts :)
She was blessed to live to such a lovely age. She looked like a sweet lady.
The photo that is showing on my wrinkled theme is Coral that I took during my last visit to the Philippines.
Thanks for the visit =)
